Excellent tutorial, and lots of good ideas. I do wonder how you would suggest shaping the arms of the saw if you have neither another turning saw nor a bandsaw. That was my situation when I made mine, at any rate.

On thing I noticed, too, was that the toggle keeps bumping into the stretcher when the saw is being tensioned. I find it easier to slide the toggle up so that the string sits in the middle of the toggle, turn the toggle the three or four times it takes to tension, and finally slip the toggle down so the string sits in the indentation.

Steve S., you can see at my link here how I built mine without another turning saw or bandsaw for some of the parts, since that is indeed the conundrum that people face. The technique is pretty simple, just a little more tedious to take many kerf cuts.
