On thing I noticed, too, was that the toggle keeps bumping into the stretcher when the saw is being tensioned. I find it easier to slide the toggle up so that the string sits in the middle of the toggle, turn the toggle the three or four times it takes to tension, and finally slip the toggle down so the string sits in the indentation.
